Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 (February 27, 2010 Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that portion of the island of Montreal known as the West Island. The West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is an extensive region that runs from Lachine all the way west. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. But this does not exist. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa. The first goal was to become a performer, but she simply outgrew her dancing partners. According to an article in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. When I grew out of my male counterparts, I resigned. A lot of former dancers go on to acting. In Brugel's case it was a nudge from a high school drama teacher who encouraged her to go to take the next step. It was the teacher who recommended she take on a part in the school's annual production. Following a trial her options, she was eventually the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. She was awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program in 2000. She graduated at the age of 20 with a degree in Fine Arts. Since then, for the more than 20 years that followed, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows on the big and small screens receiving the greatest attention when she was cast as Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian actor in Season 1 of the series and not seen much.

Aisha Hinds and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aisha Hinds, an American actor best recognized for her roles on the television shows The Shield and True Blood. Since her first appearance, she has shown her versatility by performing in series like Under the Dome, 9-1-1 Detroit and 1-8-7.
